Online Safety and Acceptable Use Policy
1. Acceptable use
Use our services for genuine enquiries, purchases, product support and relevant feedback. Do not use them to send or publish illegal material; exploit or groom a child; threaten, harass or abuse someone; promote violence or serious self-harm; or share intimate images or another person's private details without permission.
Scams, impersonation, malicious links, malware, unauthorised access and attempts to bypass security are prohibited. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, expose another customer's information, or encourage dangerous or unlawful use of products.
Genuine criticism and negative product reviews are allowed. We do not remove a review merely because it is unfavourable to our business.
2. Children and personal information
Our website is a retail and support service. Children may still visit it, so content and interactions must remain appropriate to that setting. Do not request personal contact, location or other unnecessary information from a child, and do not use our services to arrange inappropriate private contact.
Keep enquiry and support messages limited to what is necessary. Never include passwords, full payment-card details, unnecessary identity documents or private information about other people. A parent, guardian or trusted person may help someone raise a concern.
3. Reporting a safety concern
Email sales@brute4x4phonemounts.com.au with the subject 'Online safety concern', or call 0483 804 615. You do not need to create an account or make a purchase to report a concern.
Provide the page address or location of the content, relevant usernames if known, the date and time, and a short description of the concern. You can request that your identity be kept confidential, although disclosure may sometimes be required by law.
Anonymous reports can be considered, but we may be unable to contact you for clarification or an outcome.
Do not download, screenshot, forward or attach suspected illegal or restricted material, especially child sexual abuse material.
Give the location of the material instead. Do not circulate intimate images to demonstrate a complaint.
In immediate danger in Australia, call Triple Zero (000). Our business inbox and telephone are not emergency services and are not monitored continuously. Illegal or restricted online content can also be reported directly to the eSafety Commissioner. Suspected online child exploitation or grooming should be reported to police or the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.
4. How we respond
We prioritise urgent safety concerns when received. We aim to acknowledge a report within 24 hours and provide an initial update within two business days. These are service targets, not guaranteed response times, and do not replace any shorter legal deadline that applies.
We assess the concern and take proportionate action. Depending on the situation, this can include removing or restricting content, contacting the affected person, warning or restricting an account, disabling an affected feature, or referring the matter to the platform provider or relevant authorities.
Where practical and lawful, we explain the outcome or action taken. We may need to limit information to protect another person's privacy, avoid further harm or comply with a legal restriction.
5. Moderation and review of decisions
We can act promptly where reasonably necessary to address unlawful content, serious harm, fraud or a security threat. Restrictions should be proportionate to the issue, not a punishment for a genuine complaint. Restricting an account does not remove customer rights relating to an existing order or warranty claim.
A person affected by a moderation decision can request a review through our safety contact and explain why the decision should be reconsidered. We will reconsider the relevant information and explain the outcome where lawful. A different reviewer will be used where practical.
6. Records, external services and policy review
Safety reports and necessary records of the response are handled under our Privacy Policy. Access should be limited to people who need the information to respond, maintain safety or meet legal obligations. We avoid retaining unnecessary copies of harmful content.
A report about content on an external platform may also need to be made using that platform's reporting tools. Tell us about a harmful or compromised link from our website so we can review it. An external link does not excuse us from responsibilities that apply to our own service.
We will review this policy following significant service changes, relevant incidents or changes to applicable law. This policy does not prevent anyone from contacting eSafety, police or another regulator directly.
